Welcome To The D1:8 Blog!
Hello and Welcome!
Welcome to the D1:8 Blog! Just like you, we love to see personality and transparency in the companies or organizations we follow, to get a better understanding of their inner workings. We’re so excited to launch this blog as a space to keep you updated on the current events, urgent needs, and most recent praises going on over here at the D1:8 center. And if you’re new, here’s a little more about us:
Us & Our Beginnings
We’re located in West Ghana, Africa, in the city of Sunyani. D1:8 was built out of a desire to reconcile the hurt we saw in our area, in West Ghana. Our greatest desire is to share Christ’s love with all the children we come across. Doris Donkor (our amazing founder) started the ministry after seeing case after case of children and parents struggling in their personal lives. Stability, fellowship, encouragement, and the reminder that they’re valued and worthy in God’s eyes is something lacking in so many homes. Our unwavering mission is to share the love of Christ with the children of our area and, as we build relationships with the young ones, to teach them values and skills to best prepare them for a healthy adulthood.
In April of 2017, our first group of young people gathered to hold our very first bible study. Since then, we’ve grown immensely, adding more chapters and activities. Not only is Daniel 1:8 Ministries interested in the spiritual growth of these young ones, but also their academic and social growth.
Our Hope For The Blog
With this blog, we desire to share more in-depth about the lovely people involved in the D1:8 Ministry: the children we come in contact with and have the honor of mentoring, our staff and volunteers, and our donors. Here you’ll be able to read more about us as a ministry and the amazing things we do on a day-to-day basis.
Our Prayer For You
Our prayer for you is that you’ll be able to clearly see and know our ministry. Our prayer is that you allow the Lord to place you perfectly where you belong in our mission, whether that’s joining us in prayer, generously supporting us financially, volunteering with us, or something as simple as sharing our mission with someone you know. We appreciate your involvement, whatever that looks like for you, so immensely and we hope you stick around to read our upcoming blog posts too!
